International scientists, who have to apply for entrance visa at home, in general need to submit an invitation letter of the hosting faculty in Germany to ease the process. It should include not less than:

The invitation letter should use the official head of letter of Bielefeld University and has to be sent to the respective German embassy or consulate in charge.

A copy of the invitation letter should be sent CC to the foreigners' office of Bielefeld (auslaenderbehoerde@bielefeld.de), especially if applying for a scientist visa under §20 German Foreigners Law.
