Along the lines of "a healthy mind in an active body", the Department of Psychology (in German) and Sports Science (in German) amalgamated to form a single Faculty in 1980, furthering interdisciplinary research and teaching. Today, the Faculty of Psychology and Sports Science, with over 200 academic staff members and nearly 1500 students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, is one of the largest of its kind in the country.
