With around 330,000 inhabitants and an area of 258 square kilometres Bielefeld is one of the 20 largest cities in Germany and is the economic and cultural metropolis of East-Westphalia- Lippe. Historically industrial planning and building has left a lasting impression on the city to this very day. This is complemented by modern architecture and a wealth of specifically created green areas.
