The workshop focussed on the different manifestations resulting from the change of attitude towards violent criminals in the field of criminal justice (including forensic psychology and psychiatry). On September 21 - 22, 2005 some 90 academics (especially psychologists / psychiatrists, philosophers and neurologists) took part in the workshop and they discussed and analyzed on an interdisciplinary level the legal and political developments in the area of preventive custody, the difficulties in implementing predictions of how dangerous criminals are as well as the latest findings in the field of neurobiology with respect to their importance for criminal law.
