The workshop focussed on the correlation between social and linguistic networks and their dynamics that had so far not been investigated systematically. Media scientists, information scientists, scientists doing research into networks from the fields of informatics, text technology and physics, sociologists and linguists discussed options, potentialities, as well as overlapping interests of their research on complex multi-level networks on the basis of empirical examples in particular from the Web 2.0, but also using historical documents, reception-networks from the science of art and literary studies.
