Research Interests

General research themes:

My further research interest is to consider the concept of the field of identity politics for theorizing professional interventions in intercultural fields of education and social work.

  Contribution to the Research Group

My special contribution to the research group will be to theorize the processes of globalization and localization in the case of Juchitán de Zaragoza, Mexico. The theoretical contribution will consider the changes of intersections of ethnicity, gender; poverty and prestige in this ethnic community in relationship to global interconnections from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. My interest will be to contribute to the concept of field identity politics in the Americas. I would like to figure out the usefulness of interaction and group-building-theories for transnational questions of identity politics. Also I will try to make fruitful the experiences of my empirical case studies in other spheres of Indigenous Latin America.
