The University of Bielefeld considers safeguarding good scientific practice as a central task of all its members in teaching and research. You can find some pointers to the basic principles of good scientific practice at the University of Bielefeld as well as the resulting procedural rules here.
In accordance with the guidelines on the support of doctoral students, two members of the University of Bielefeld have been appointed by the Vice Chancellor's office as central ombudspersons. These ombudspersons take action as mediators in cases of offences against good scientific practice, and conflicts between doctoral students and supervisors.
The ombudsperson is available for advice in cases where an offence against good scientific practice is suspected. If necessary, it gets in touch with the Committee of Enquiry into Offences against Good Scientific Practice. You can contact the current ombudsperson of the University of Bielefeld here.
The ombudsman for scientists has been created by the DFG (German Research Foundation). The institution gives advice to all scientists on questions of good scientific practice and acts as mediator in issues of offences against it.
