Programme

The Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology offers members a high-quality doctoral programme and an exciting research environment. The degree programme includes all courses offered within the history and sociology doctoral programmes, academic courses by visiting researchers as well as courses in key skills and career planning. All courses credited towards a doctoral degree are listed in the online course catalogue (ekvv) .

The Graduate School's academic environment is created first and foremost by faculty research as well as by many BGHS activities. The Graduate School offers, among other things:

• services in career planning and professional orientation;
• the Annual Seminar in History and Sociology;
• the Visiting Chair in History and Sociology,
• regular seminars and courses by visiting researchers;
• the Interdisciplinary Seminar and the Interdisciplinary Colloquium as well as
• symposia, workshops and conferences organised by our doctoral candidates themselves.
