We understand biology didactics to be the field of study concerned with the teaching and learning of biological topics, and biology specific competencies. The Baumert report (2007) required the long-term empirical development of teaching methodology. The main tasks of our department are, therefore, to train prospective biology teachers as well as to do research in the field of biology didactics.
Why is this important for me as a prospective teacher?
