The Faculty of Biology is highly research oriented and important national and international research projects are established in the different research fields. Moreover, a variety of interdiciplinary cooperation with other faculties of the Bielefeld University (e.g. Chemistry, Physics and Technology), the Cluster of Excellence „Cognitive Interaction Technology“ (CITEC) as well as the "Center for Biotechnology" (CeBiTec) are involved in both research and teaching.
