The University of Bielefeld Fachsprachenzentrum's (FSZ) main responsibility is to provide language classes for the students at the University - both topical and classes based on levels.
Consolidated in 2009 from several faculties offering language instruction, under the leadership of director Dr. Susanne Hecht, the FSZ has from the beginning sought to offer the students of Bielefeld high quality language instruction. The FSZ has a large staff of native speaking teachers, which provides for a rich multicultural and multi-lingual environment. Please follow this link for a list of languages offered in EKVV.
Furthermore, the FSZ seeks to stay up to date, and therefore offers several e-learning and autonomous learning options, including Online English classes and classes in 2nd Life, which takes place in a virtual classroom environment. Additionally, the FSZ has had success with International Skype Tandems and is presently expanding the reach of the program to encompass all language tandems at the university with a database to help match students both internationally or locally for language practice.
