The aim of this scientific monitoring project is to support model political education projects addressing anti-Semitism past and present. It is being conducted jointly by the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence and the Society for Social Science Consulting, Analysis and Evaluation proVal. The model projects are funded by the German federal program "Vielfalt tut gut: Jugend für Vielfalt, Toleranz und Demokratie" (Diversity Is Good: Young People for Diversity, Tolerance and Democracy).
The starting point for the evaluation is the following question: What are the project's goals in addressing anti-Semitism past and present and which of these goals can be achieved taking into account the project context, the available resources and internal processes?
Scientific monitoring helps research projects to optimize their goal-setting and implementation, documenting and analyzing the outcome of measures applied and providing a transparent reconstruction and analysis of implementation strategies by which these measures are put into practice. The assumptions about the effects of eight selected projects are also reconstructed and examined empirically to assess their validity.
