Open Access

Bielefeld University has set up a fund designed to promote the publication of scientific publications as open access documents in the Internet. This publication fund is now also being supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG). To find out more, click here.

Electronic Second Publication

Many publishers allow authors to release their work previously published as a journal article or book chapter for a second online publication on an institutional server, thereby providing open access throughout the world. The University library runs such a document server providing worldwide open access to Bielefeld University research findings. It contains only post-prints, that is, publications of a guaranteed quality that have passed through, for example, a peer review process. Each entry gives access to descriptive data and the full text. Using a simple entry form, anybody can upload the data quickly and easily.
