Universitätsgesellschaft Bielefeld Dissertation Prize
The Universitätsgesellschaft (University Society) is strongly committed to the promotion of talented young researchers. Every year the Society awards the Dissertations Prize to doctoral theses completed at Bielefeld University with the distinction of summa cum laude. Since 2013, there has also been a Dissertations Prize for interdisciplinary work in the area of organisation and staff development.
The German Study Award (Deutscher Studienpreis)
This prize is awarded to theses with outstanding social significance that present their ideas in a clear and convincing way.
Klaus Tschira Award for Achievements in Public Understanding of Sciences
This prize is awarded annually to young researchers for explaining their research findings in a clear and comprehensible manner and who completed their doctorate in the previous year. The prize is awarded in the subject areas of biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, neuroscience and physics.
Research prizes for young researchers
The DFG awards this prize to young researchers in recognition of their outstanding achievements and to further their academic careers. A total of 10 prizes are awarded, each valued at 20,000 Euro.
Leopoldina Early Career Award (Commerzbank Foundation)
This prize valued at 30,000 Euro is awarded every two years by the Commerzbank Foundation to young researchers for outstanding achievements in one of the fields represented by the Leopoldina.
This award recognizes researchers who have communicated their research findings to the public with exceptional success.
Award for outstanding work by young researchers who have obtained their research results on a Marie Curie Action mobility project.
