Every year, the westfälisch-lippische Universitätsgesellschaft awards the Dissertation Prize for outstanding doctoral theses receiving summa cum laude. Each faculty can make one proposal. The deadline for proposals in 2011 is 15 September. The prize money is 1,000.- €, and the award is given every year in February in an academic ceremony at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research (ZIF).
