Every year, the westfälisch-lippische Universitätsgesellschaft awards the Post-Doctoral Habilitation Prize for an outstanding post-doctoral habilitation thesis. Each faculty can submit proposals up until the autumn of any particular year. A panel decides on the award. The prize is worth 3,000,- , and it is awarded during the annual assembly of the members of the University Society.
