Training for doctoral students and postdocs of Bielefeld University
Since 2004, the Writing Centre has run the training course "Research ? Writing ? Teaching". The course is aimed at doctoral students and postdocs of Bielefeld University who attend five two-day course units. Participants learn about the Writing Centre's workshop concept on writing course work and theses, try out and reflect on a wide range of practice and teaching material and develop writing-intensive sequences for their own teaching in their subject. During the practice phase of training, the participants have the opportunity to test their concepts in workshops for students of Bielefeld University.
Aims and greater scope
Writing in the course of your studies offers excellent opportunities to acquire valuable skills in communication, problem solving and methodological awareness. In addition, writing helps to develop these skills and to develop them in line with the particular discipline and form of communication. Good guidance and feedback are indispensible in realising the learning potentials of writing during studies. Because of this, Bielefeld University makes every effort to equip young researchers with concepts and skills based upon a process-oriented writing pedagogic.
