Since art work supported by computers and videos is increasingly gaining importance, the conference intended to take a retrospective view on influence and on parallels between infomatics and computers for theory and practice of the arts and discussed open questions concerning the relationship of cybernetic order and contingency. This triggered discussions between technical-mathematical and artistic-humanistic culture that have so far been largely missing.
