Personal Description
Jutta Weber is Guest Professor at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Her main interests are theoretical and empirical studies of science and technology, philosophy of science, epistemology, social theory, gender as well as media studies. In her book Umkämpfte Bedeutungen: Naturkonzepte im Zeitalter der Technoscience (Contested Meanings: Nature in the Age of Technoscience), Frankfurt / NY: Campus 2003, she did a comparative study of concepts of nature in postmodern epistemology, science studies and Artificial Intelligence.

Research Interests
She would like to contribute to the work of the ZIF research group with regard to the theoretical analysis of the epistemological and ontological groundings of new technosciences, with micro-sociological studies in the field of new AI and with regard to methodological questions in the field of science and technology studies (cultural studies of technoscience) and gender studies.
