Self-driving cars on the roads, robots in nursing, networked fridges, smart protheses: technology surrounding us is not only getting increasingly intelligent, it is moving closer and closer, enters our everyday life and our bodies.
Around the world, researchers are developing artificial intelligent systems that are useful, non-dangerous and easy to deal with. That is a fascinating aspect, at the same time, however, it is a cause of great concern: are those intelligent machines actually safe? In which way are they going to change the world we live and work in? Will they be smarter than we are? In numerous science fiction scenarios constellations and catastrophies have been simulated that influence and determine our perception of intelligent systems.
But what is the real state of development of this technology? What is possible today? What questions must be resolved by society and what is idle panic-mongering?
At the ZiF-Konferenz 2015 six internationally-renowned experts from the fields of artificial intelligence research, philosophy and law will present the current state of research and look into our future with artificial intelligence.
The annual ZiF-Konferenz is dedicated to a topic of high social relevance. In cooperation with leading scholars in the respective fields, the ZiF Board of Directors invites as speakers international experts. Each lecture will be followed by an extended discussion.
The ZiF-Konferenz is open to the public and takes place in the ZiF plenary hall. Persons interested in attending are requested to let our conference office know in advance.
