Welcome to the Graduate School
The Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology joins the international doctoral programmes in sociology and in history under one umbrella. It provides an inspiring research environment for a diverse group of about 160 doctoral candidates and integrates research on a broad variety of topics. The variety of topics will be supervised by professors at both of the involved institutions the Department of Sociology and the Department of History, Philosophy and Theology .
The Graduate School's three-year programme can be commenced twice a year. Doctoral candidates can start the programme every winter semester and every summer semester. The deadline for application runs out on June 15th (for the winter semester) and respectively on January 15th (for the summer semester)
