Interactional organization of information-seeking behavior on the medical forums
This project examines naturally occurring doctor-patient interactions that take place on the Russian-speaking medical forums. Using Conversation Analytic methods, I am studying the ways in which patients seek information online; the question is to what degree online forum as a novel form of medical interaction affords to "empowered patients" who actively control their own health care.
