Since the cause of war in Bosnia has been heavily promoted by religious myths and symbols, the chances for religious groups fostering peace are rather bad, mostly due to the lack of trust from the people. This is where a new kind of 'prophets' springs into action, forming multireligious bodies or spiritually motivated nondenominational organizations, which show themselves as adversaries of the established religious institutions, in order to gain confidence and trust within their specific religious communities. Whether the subcultural conflict between institutional and non-institutional religion can be a valuable source for the credibility of religious peace-work shall thus be the main focus of the intended research.
