Current research topics

The goal of my current research is to investigate how noise at the various processing stages of the visual motion pathway constrains the performance of the entire system. My current research topics with respect to the fly are summarised on the www-page Reliability of neural coding. I will investigate the reliability of encoding of visual motion information also in humans starting in April 2004 with a project financed by the VolkswagenStiftung. A summary of the entire project will soon be available.
