My current research is focused on the project "Processing of geomagnetic information in the avian brain". I am investigating how geomagnetic fields are transduced into neuronal information and which structures of the avian brain are involved in the processing. The research includes behavioral studies, electrophysiological recordings in the bird brain (single cell, multi unit recordings, evoked potentials) and some anatomical approaches.
Additionally I am interested in the behavior of domestic animals, especially social behavior and animal - human relationships. Since 2005 I am working free-lance as behavioral counselor and therapist. www.animetho.de
