Sabine Schrader started her chemical studies at the University of Bielefeld in 1982. After staying abroad in Newcastle upon Tyne/England in the working group of Prof. M. S. Baird she finished her thesis for doctorate in Organic Chemistry "New chiral ammonia salts in the enantioselective phase transfer catalysis" in the beginning of 1992. Since 1989 she is scienctific co-worker at the faculty of chemistry at the university of Bielefeld. As the directive about hazardous materials took place in 1994 she was signed as a commissioner of security for this faculty. Backing this occupation she completed a course as a engineer for safety provisions for workers in 1995.

Organic synthesis and phase transfer catalysis
Member of the work-group: maintenance of industrial health and safety standards for trash of the University of Bielefeld (since 1991)
Testing and initiating new concepts in the practical training of the organic chemistry. (1995-97 Execution of the project "Globally, environment-suitable working in chemistry")
Aquiring projects and concepts to improve the safety provisions for workers in the faculty (e.g. establishing a circle of commissioners of security at the chemical faculty in 1996); Organising and executing the faculty-competition "Safer Lab" (1998); Developing and completing the filmlet about safety provisions for workers named "Kann denn Liebe Sünde sein" (1999)
Since 2001 participation in the project group „Handlungsanleitung für den Umgang mit krebserzeugenden Stoffen in Praktika”
Member of the project team "kindergarten for the employees of the University of Bielefeld", opening of the kindergarten 08/2006 (since 08/2003)
Training of the laboratory assistants of the department of chemistry (since 2004).
