International Graduate School of Chemistry and Biochemistry

The Graduate School of Chemistry and Biochemistry Bielefeld was   established to provide a focus for graduate research and training within   the Department of Chemistry. Its primary objectives are to ensure that all   aspects of graduate teaching, research and tuition meet the highest possible standards.
The aims are:

    Internationalisation
    Compatibility between different national education systems
    Limitation of PhD study duration to three years
    Interdisciplinarity
    Improvement of soft skills
    Promotion of intercultural competence


Language courses
The Department for German as a Foreign Language offers courses in German as well as general    advice on academic writing. More information can be found on the    website of the PunktUm program.

A Blog for the Graduate School 
To improve the communication possibilities for the postgraduate chemistry and biochemistry students at the University of Bielefeld we have created a Web Blog. You can find it  here.  If you want to apply for membership please have a look at the mailing list for instructions.


Chemical Colloquium
The Graduate School Lectures and the GDCh Lectures have been joined to a Chemical Colloquium. This Colloquium takes place every Thursday at 17 c.t. in lecture hall H3.
