The "International Summer School 2012" is an advanced training course of the Institute for Innovation Transfer at the University of Bielefeld GmbH (IIT) in cooperation with the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Bielefeld.

Enrolment is open to the following categories of registrants:
- Professionals in health departments, other health agencies and industry, and allied health professionals.
- Physicians interested in infectious diseases, microbiologists, epidemiologists, and students enrolled in School of Public Health programmes from Germany and other European countries.
- Microbiologists and epidemiologists,
