Welcome to movement – mentoring for female students and researchers!

movement - Women on their way to the science

Mentoring is an effective instrument in career development and has been successfully employed in science, business and society to provide sustainable support for qualified junior staff

The mentoring programme movement aims to support female students and researchers of all faculties in successfully building their careers in science. The reason for this is that women make an outstanding contribution to science and research and are extremely well qualified. However, they are still underrepresented in the highest and most attractive academic positions.

->movement offers future oriented women optimal and individual support, offers insights into the unwritten rules of the academic business, offers support in career planning and in accessing and developing networks.

->movement is an ideal platform for engaged and open women who wish to take charge of  their own career with initiative and enthusiasm to find their place in academia!

movement is offered to

Female Students with an interest in following a doctoral programme (start June 2015)

Female Doctoral students with career perspectives in science (start February 2015)

International Female Doctoral students with career perspectives in science (start January 2015)

Female Post-doctoral and post-doctoral habilitation students aiming for a professorship (start October 2015)

->movement is cooperating with the Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology (BGHS) with the current intake of doctoral students and the Collaborative Research Centre (SFB) 882 "From Heterogeneities to Inequalities" with the next intake of post-doctoral researchers.
