Society for Bielefeld Philosophy
Since its founding in 1999, the accredited, non-profit Society for Bielefeld Philosophy has focused on its goal in promoting the interests of philosophy in Bielefeld. Such activities include supporting and organizing broader-scale philosophical events for the public (such as various lecture series) as well as corresponding events in the philosophy department (events such as guest lectures, the distinguished Pentecost Course Series, and student council activities).
Furthermore, it is of special concern for the Society to build and sustain continuing connections between the department and its former students. Particularly, the Society, in collaboration with the university, is working toward the construction of an alumni network, which whose use will be open to current students.
The Society can only work towards achieving these goals with support from the public at large, in addition to the wide support of the students and faculty. Every new member is hence wholeheartedly welcome. To become a member of the society, please contact Ms. Schilling (T8-210 or eike_inga.schilling@uni-bielefeld.de)
The yearly membership fee is 30 EUR, or 10 EUR for students.
