Born 1959 in Karlsruhe.
1978 Graduation from High-School at Goethe-Gymnasium Karlsruhe.
1978-1980 Community service at a daycare institution for disabled children, Karlsruhe.
1980 to 1986 Undergraduate studies and Graduation (Dipl.-Psych.) in Psychology, University of Heidelberg.
1986 to 1998 Teaching positions at the Universities of Heidelberg and Mannheim.
1990 Dr. phil. in Psychology, University of Heidelberg.
1991-92 Feodor Lynen Research Fellow, New York University.
1997 Habilitation in Psychology, University of Mannheim.
1997 Temporary Professorship (Group Sociology and Social Psychology), University of Mannheim.
1998 Temporary Chair (General and Social Psychology), University of Würzburg.
