Carsten Reinhardt is a historian of science and has been professor at Bielefeld University since 2007. From 2013 to 2016 he served as the Science History Institute's president in Philadelphia, U.S.A. His research focuses on the history of the modern natural and technical sciences in their relations to society, industry and the environment, so there are many overlaps with the philosophy, sociology and economics of science. Reinhardt is a member of Bielefeld Universitys Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies of Science (I2SoS).
