The first area of construction work in the main university building kicks off the modernisation of Bielefeld University. The building will be brought up to date with state of the art facilities over six areas of construction. This modernisation period brings changes for all those affiliated with the University.
The modernisation of the main University building began in 2014 with the first of six phases of construction. In mid-November the Bielefeld branch of Bau- und Liegenschaftsbetrieb (BLB) NRW prepared the building site starting with the groundwork for the first phase of the modernisation. The segments A, B, K, R, and S of the building are affected in the first construction phase and are therefore inaccessible during the first phase of modernisation (graphic).
