The Faculty of Law of Bielefeld University invites applications for the following academic position to be filled at earliest convenience:
Professorship (W3, permanent position) in Public Law with special focuses on International and European Public Law and on Constitutional Law.
The Faculty of Law seeks to attract candidates with an outstanding
record both in teaching and academic scholarship.
The appointee is expected to make a substantial contribution to the
standard classes in German public law – especially in constitutional
law – that prepare students for the first state exam, and to strengthen
the faculty’s international and interdisciplinary activities. The
successful candidate is expected to take responsibilities in the areas
of specialisation of the state exam course of studies "European and
International Public Law" and "Constitutional Law" as well as teaching
and researching foundations of law in the sense of the state exam
course of studies. The Faculty of Law expects the participation in
university research, inter alia in cooperation with the Faculty of
Sociology and the Department of History, as well as a contribution to
the internationalization of the law curriculum (this may also include
teaching classes in English).
Appointment to the W3-professorship requires to have completed
university studies, a doctorate, established teaching skills and an
additional academic record that will – exclusively and comprehensively
– be assessed by the appointment committee.
