The Faculty of Chemistry at Bielefeld University seeks to appoint as soon as possible a
Professor (W3) of Biochemistry
At Bielefeld University, people representing a wide variety of
perspectives work together in an interdisciplinary way to ensure
innovative research and teaching at the highest level with
international orientation. Bielefeld University comprises 14 faculties
including natural and technical sciences and medicine with about 3,500
employees and 25,000 students. Life Science Chemistry is one research
focus of the Faculty of Chemistry.
The Faculty of Chemistry is looking for a scientist who is
internationally renowned for experimental research in a current field
of biochemistry. We expect a productive complementation of the research
directions that already exist in the Faculty. Moreover, the future
professor is expected to actively contribute to research foci and
networks of the Faculty and University. A commitment in the field of
"Molecular Medicine", e.g. in the research fields "Brain, Disability,
Participation" or "Microbial Diversity in the Human Habitat" is desired.
The Faculty of Chemistry attaches great importance to the quality of
teaching and to student support. In teaching, the advertised
professorship represents the subject of biochemistry in its entire
breadth within the framework of the B.Sc. and M.Sc. programme
biochemistry, the doctoral programme in chemistry and other related
programmes.
Recruitment requirements are governed by § 36 of the NRW Higher
Education Act (HG).
