Extracurricular Biology Education

The merit of out-of-school learning is primarily justified by the authenticity of the experience for the students, and its resulting motivating qualities. The holistic aspects of experiencing animals in their natural environments, i.e. using minds, hearts and hands, can lead to highly effective episodic and systematic teaching. We are interested in uncovering the factors leading to motivating, and cognitively enhancing lessons in zoos, museums and hands-on exhibits, etc.
