How to perform confidently and communicate effectively - for women only (18. – 19. April oder 19. – 20. September 2024)
In the study and doctoral phases, it is very important to make progress, especially in terms of qualifications, diligence and performance. This applies to men and women alike. But at the latest afterwards, when it comes to making a career - whether at university or in a company - this is not enough anymore. Now it's about becoming visible - and most men are more successful in this field than women are. They communicate in a fundamentally different way. This workshop gives the participants the ability to present their own competence in the best possible way. They will recognize power and status games and will be able to shape their own appearance confidently by communication.
Content
The structure of the workshop is based on the two major topics "Recognizing the rules of the game in professional communication" and "Using these rules optimally for your own personality and career".

Am 25. und 26. April 2024 findet an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum der Workshop „Gender-Innovationen? Geschlechter- und feministische Perspektiven in den Sozial- und Geisteswissenschaften“ statt. Der Workshop findet im Rahmen des Forschungsprojekts "Gender-Innovationen in den Sozial- und Geisteswissenschaften: Organisationen und Lehre im Fokus (Gender-Innovationen)" statt, das vom Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) gefördert wird.

How can I make an impact in professional contexts such as small-talk situations at conferences? What can help me in situations where I face an international crowd and how can I connect to an interdisciplinary audience?
The workshop Make an impact! offers the opportunity to enhance overall effective communication (verbal and non-verbal) in order to enhance and improve networking and self-promotion opportunities.
Description:
Throughout the workshop, participants will be guided through interactive exercises to improve their body language, as well as focus on the quality of their language content and structure of their ideas. The aim is to develop strategies to make a lasting and positive impact on groups, colleagues, and significant contact persons (networking). Trainer input will provide the opportunity to gain new insights in effective communication and learn how to present themselves more effectively and to make the best impression and strongest impact.
