Counselling on skills acquisition, profile building and career orientation
"What are you actually doing with your studies?!" Many know this question, have heard it before or have asked it themselves. The counselling service includes information and counselling on career orientation during your studies with a focus on (inter)subject competences and individual profile building. The offer is closely related to the Bielefeld Competence Logbook (www.kompetenzlogbuch.de). Among other things, methods of solution-focused counselling are used in this offer.

The departmental student representative committee supports you in finding your way around the degree programme in general and can help you clarify general questions about the degree programme. It can be used, for example, to establish initial contact with persons or to answer general information for the degree programme. In addition, the staff, people can pass on contacts to more specific offers.
In the midst of the stress of group work, seminar papers and exams, there can sometimes be problems with other students that have an impact on your studies. Here, too, the members of the departmental student representative committee are the contacts and help to mediate between people and find solutions.

During your studies, you have to continuously produce scientific texts, prepare and internalise Content of teaching and present ideas and results in front of a group. The aim of this offer is to support you in mastering the challenges associated with this, such as academicity, time and knowledge management. We offer a variety of workshops as well as individual counselling sessions (including text feedback on excerpts of your own academic texts).
