HeartBiX: Heart Exploration and Interactive Learning

HeartBiX visualises key physiological sub-processes of the cardiac cycle. The application combines dynamic visualisations with interactive control options, enabling users to understand electrical excitation, pressure conditions, cardiac movements, valve mechanics and blood flow, as well as their temporal interplay, based on real measurement data.

HeartBiX is available as open-source software and runs on various platforms. Due to the computationally intensive nature of the data processing, the software was primarily designed for desktop applications. The user interface has been designed to provide a quick introduction to the physiological processes of the cardiac cycle, enabling users to explore and understand the interrelationships between these processes without any programming knowledge.

The application can be downloaded from this website.
