Radiation-related tumor risk in flying personnel in Germany - Conduction of the 3rd follow-up (FLIPKO)

The flying staff of the airlines has an increased occupational exposure through cosmic radiation. In a cohort study conducted since 1997, occupational health risks of cockpit and cabin personnel are examined together with national and international partners, with the focus being on the identification of radiation-associated cancer risks. The 3rd follow-up of the German cohort is currently being conducted in cooperation with the University of Bielefeld and the IMBEI of Mainz University Hospital. Results are expected for the end of 2016.
