Bielefeld University has set up a fund designed to promote the publication of scientific publications as open access documents in the Internet. This publication fund is now also being supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG). To find out more, click here.
Many publishing houses allow you to make your publications, which have already been published as a journal article or a book chapter, available online on an institutional server and in an open access format. The university library operates the publication server PUB - Publications at Bielefeld University, that offers worldwide open access to the research results of Bielefeld University.
In PUB publications before (preprint) and after peer review (postprint) can be uploaded. The metadata and the full text of the publication are available via PUD. A simple form allows you to upload the necessary data and information yourself.
When you submit your publication, you make an agreement with the publishing house, which regulates when you are allowed to publish which texts in an open access format. This is why you should know about the legal options before you enter into the author?s agreement. More detailed information on author?s rights and agreements is available on the website open-access.net.
