Dr. Simon Kühne
I'm Simon Kühne and I've been working as a research associate at Universität Bielefeld since April 2018. My main research is in the field of survey methodology, i.e., the scientific methods used in large-scale population surveys. Moreover, I'm interested in novel data sources used in the social sciences such as Social Media or other data types in the context of Big Data. In addition, my research focuses on social and health inequalities.
I'm Marvin Bürmann and I?ve been working as a research associate at the University of Bielefeld since May 2018. My main research interest is the sociological labor market research. In the course of my dissertation my focus lies on educational mismatches, hence over- and underqualification. With special regard to the digitization of labour and the international migration, my main research questions are how these mismatches emerge and change within the life course.
Lisa de Vries
I am Dorian Tsolak and I have been working as a researching associate at Bielefeld University since November 2018. My main research interest is statistical modeling in the social sciences. Thematically I focus on the intergenerational transmission of different aspects of social stratification with a focal point on migration. Furthermore, I am interested in Machine Learning and Deep Learning and my goal is to harness the advancements in those fields for research in the social sciences. Since online data is a very rich source for such models, Social Media research is also of great interest to me.
