Language of instruction: Hebrew and English. The minimum level of English language proficiency is B2 according to the Common European Reference Frame (CEFR). A language certificate is required.

General information: Haifa is the third biggest city in the north of Israel at the Mediterranean cost. The University Haifa is with 13.000 students the biggest university in the city.
Course offerings: Students are free to choose course from the English curse offer at the international school. An overview of courses offered in English can be found at the website of the international school. Courses in Hebrew can only be choosen, if the level of Hebrew language proficiency is B2 or higher.
Study terms: The lecture time in Haifa is organized in semesters. The fall semester usually begins in October and ends in January. The spring semester begins in February and ends in June. You can find more information on the academic calendar here.
Other information:International students are enrolled at the international school at the University Haifa. To enroll at the international school a cumultative grade point average of 2,0 at your home university is required. The enrollment at the international school guarantees extensive support which meets their needs. Part of this support is an orientation program, including several introduction courses such as in the campus computer system. The international school recommends all international students to apply on a place in one of the two dorms on campus, belonging to the university. The international school also offers information on visas at their homepage.
While your stay in Haifa you have to be health insured by an Israeli health insurance company and you must have an Israeli mobile phone number. Latter is part of the universities safety regulations, which also include that students who are enrolled at the international school are forbidden to travel to the West banks.
The university offers a wide range of activities, such as a fitness studio, several students’ organizations and religious participation. You will find further information in the 2018-19 fact sheet for Erasmus+ students and at the website of the international school.
