Language of instruction: German. There are offered courses in English language. Seminar papers can be authored independently in German or English as convenient. The minimum desirable level of German or English language proficiency is at least B2 following the European reference frame (CEFR).

General information: The University of Lucerne is located in the heart of Switzerland and students describe it as an innovative, creative and open minded university. It is a young university and is with about 2800 students one of the smallest universities of Switzerland. The Department of Political Science is one of eight departments, two institutes and further research centres at the Faculty of Humanity and Social Sciences. It is the youngest of all institutes (founded in 2006). It is research oriented and focuses on the transnationalizing and globalizing world with its consequences for the National State and democracy.

Course offerings: Our Erasmus+ Partner in Lucerne, the Seminar für Politikwissenschaften and the Soziologisches Seminar at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences offer the following course programme:

Students at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences have various opportunities to elaborate their individual study programme. Besides the different BA and MA study programmes, you may choose from the English course offer of the Faculty. Please inform yourself about the requirements and courses available to exchange students on the corresponding website. A complete course catalogue online is available online.

Study terms: The winter term starts regularly in the mid of September and ends in the mid of December. The summer term starts regularly in the mid of February and ends in June.
