Language of instruction: Italian. Courses are also offered in English. The minimum desirable level of proficiency in Italian or English is B1 based on the Common European Reference Frame (CEFR). A good knowledge of Italian is beneficial because most courses are in Italian while courses in English are limited.

General information: Sassari is a small town on the island Sardinia, which is known for producing olive oil, wine, and cheese, but in particular for its renowned university. It is a public university that is especially marked by a multi-disciplinary research environment. Since its foundation in 1617 it was not only the initial Faculty of Laws that has made itself a name, but the whole University of Sassari that has been constantly growing. Today it consists of eleven faculties, 24 departments with over 10.000 students and about 700 staff members.

The course offering provides basic theoretical, analytical and historical knowledge of the Political Sciences. Both study programmes relate to neighbor disciplines such as economics, psychology, communication, and international relations. They furthermore offer a broad range of sociological and foreign language courses.
Study terms: The winter term regularly starts at the beginning of Oktober and ends at the end of January. The summer semester regularly starts at the beginning of March and ends in mid-June. Exams take place respectively in February and from July to September. Intensive language courses start a few weeks before the lectures start.
Other information: The University Sassari offers students different support services such as Italian language courses free of charge or guidance in combining the Erasmus+ stay with an internship, welcome days, and an ombudsperson for exchange students. Furthermore, the Erasmus+ students network in Sassari organises activities and students may participate in the sports and cultural offerings of the university.
