General information: The Aarhus University consists of 27 departments within four faculties. Over 15,000 of the 56,000 students and employees work at the School of Business and Social Science (Aarhus BSS). The school has cooperative agreements with well-known research institutes and focuses on cooperation with actors of the state, civil society, and the economy. This close contact makes the learning environment in Aarhus particularly practice-oriented, but it also places a emphasis on new talents and the exchange of knowledge. Teaching and research are very closely connected at the Department of Political Sciences, and openness and pluralism in research is especially emphasized.

The Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes provide theoretical, methodological, and content-specific access to topics in six areas: comparative policy, international relations, public administration and management, governmental policy, political sociology, and methodology/political theories. Study terms: The winter semester usually starts in late August and ends in mid-January. The summer semester usually starts in mid-January and ends in early June. Exams are held at the end of a course rather than at the end of a semester.
Other information: The University offers students various options to join the student associations of the Department for Political Sciences and across other departments in the university. Danish language courses and support in finding accommodation is offered to all students. In addition, there is an active Erasmus+ Student Network (ESN) and the Århus International Student Society that regularly organize activities. A Student Guide is available for download on the website and a Mentoring Programme is available to help exchange students get involved in the study environment.
