Freshers' welcome event at the SchücoArena

Welcome to Bielefeld University!

We are pleased to announce that our main welcome ceremony for all new students can once again take place in person in the winter semester 2021/22. All students who have been studying at Bielefeld University since the summer semester 2020 are invited.

Interesting guests from the University and the city of Bielefeld await you in a programme lasting around 50 minutes. Entertainment will be provided by poetry slam artist Paulina Behrendt and the Homebrass band. The event will be moderated by Sebastian Wiese.

For organisation reasons, we kindly ask you to register via the Arminia Bielefeld ticket shop.

Tickets for the event are free of charge. You can select and book up to three tickets at a time.

Hygiene and protective measures

All guests must provide proof of “3G status” which refers to geimpft (vaccinated), genesen (recovered) and getested (tested) in accordance with current Covid-19 regulations in Germany. On entry, you will need to show proof of your 3G status as well as your identity card/ passport. Please note, for proof of a negative Covid test, a rapid antigen test taken no longer than 48 hours before the event is required.

It is compulsory to wear a face covering on entering, exiting and throughout the stadium, You may remove your face covering only when seated.

Due to the rapidly changing situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, we reserve the right to make alterations to the event programme at short notice. Should this be the case, we will let you know by email.

Note on admission:

Please note that it will take longer than usual to gain entry to the event due to the mandatory document checks. We kindly ask you to have your proof of 3G status and identity card/ passport ready and be at the venue as early as possible. The doors open at 9am.
