Use of the logo by students, scholarship holders and doctoral candidates who are not employed by the University.
If students or doctoral candidates wish as part of their theses to write to third parties, in particular companies, with a request for participation in a study, etc., they can use the University letterhead with the logo. The prerequisite is that the supervisor agrees and signs the letter jointly with the student.
The logo can be used on posters, flyers or presentations in the context of a degree course or doctoral programme. The same applies to presentations that show research findings which are used at conferences or congresses. The prerequisite is the consent of the supervisor or the lecturer responsible.
It is not permitted to publish the University logo on theses.
Note: If a student does use the logo on their final thesis, this is not a reason to downgrade or not to mark their thesis. However, it should be made clear that the dissemination of work which includes the logo is not allowed.
The use of the University logo by any person or legal entity outside the University
The use of the University logo requires written permission and is only possible in cases in which there is a sufficient connection to Bielefeld University. Please contact the Head of the Communication and Marketing Department.

Cooperation programmes and networks, affiliated associations and institutions, students and university groups have no web presence at uni-bielefeld.de, but use independent websites.
Whether, in exceptional cases, a website can be implemented within the framework of the university webpages is to be clarified on a case by case basis.
