Dear students,
welcome on the web-site of the International Track of the MA Sociology at Bielefeld University. With the winter term 2010/11 the MA Sociology started to offer a broad course programme, mainly taught in English from which you can chose your courses for the International Track.
The International Track is an international study programme. It offers an academic programme for future international careers in academia, public institutions, non-governmental organizations and private companies in Germany, Europe and elsewhere to students from Germany and to international students.
A broad variety of courses taught in English are at the centre of the International Track. It further offers the possibility to combine with courses taught in other languages as well as the optional integration of one or two semesters abroad. In addition, the programme is accompanied by academic and sociological language training in English and German as well as other languages.
We invite all students at Bielefeld University and interested international students to enrol in the course programme of the International Track entirely or for individual courses. For full enrolment requiring 75 ECTS of international courses (see study programme) a certificate is issued with the graduation.
At the moment, the International Track focuses on two profiles that offer a variety of courses in English which allows students to fulfil all requirements within a four-semester enrolment in the MA. These are Profile 1: Differentiation, inequality and the life course, and Profile 4: World society, transnationalization and development. In addition, students are free to choose form a wide variety of courses offered by the Faculty of Sociology, some of which are also offered in English.
