Welcome to the homepage of Transnationalization and Development at the department for Sociology at Bielefeld University.
The Research Unit Transnationalization and Development teaches Bachelor and Master classes. Furthermore we offer seminars and colloquia for doctoral students und we organize other international events for students.
The Research deals with processes of Globalization and Transnationalization, Social Inequalities, Citizenship, Ethnicity, Democratization, and Migration-, Mobility- and Minorityresearch. Three of our ongoing projects are part of the crc882. Other projects study Climate Change and the Microdynamics of Democratization.
The research unit consists of two groups, the group for „Social Anthropology“ and the group for „Transantionalization, Development and Migration“. Further informations on the group's activities, their research projects and their publications can be obtained here:
